Kiln & Co
A ceramics shop with a real basket, built to show how online selling works.
Self-directed build for an invented business — nobody commissioned this. Everything you can click is real and working; only the company is made up.
A product catalogue with filtering, individual product pages, and a working basket that survives a page refresh — everything a small shop needs before payments get connected.
Kiln & Co is an invented ceramics studio, built to work through the parts of e-commerce that are easy to get wrong.
The basket is real. Add a piece, change the quantity, close the tab and come back — it is still there, because the contents persist to local storage. That state is read after mount rather than during render, which is the detail that stops React throwing a hydration error when the server-rendered HTML and the browser disagree about what is in your basket.
Product pages are generated ahead of time, one per item, so they load instantly and search engines can read them properly. Filtering happens in the browser with no page reload.
Checkout is deliberately disabled. Wiring up Stripe is a day of work, but taking real card details on a demo would be dishonest, so the button says what it is.
